Yes where do thoughts come from? We don't create them. And how does the body, all "bodies", regenerate themselves during rest? We don't do it. And i very much appreciate what you are saying about AI potentially amplifying false information. That has not occurred to me.
Don't get me wrong; I also think AI may hold a lot of promise. Like I was listening recently about research on the DNA of the total soil microbiome. That's a huge amount of data and hard to make sense of it without some help. Then again a couple days ago I went to a popular search engine with the slogan, "Farming is everybody's bread and butter". I recall seeing pickup trucks with bumper stickers saying that in Chelsea back in the 1970s. What came back from the "AI overview" was this: "'Farming is everybody's bread and butter' is a phrase that refers to the idea that farming is a main source of income for many." So, the AI interpretation of the slogan totally missed the point.
Some AI skeptics and detractors may be relieved to hear this marvel of infernal technology isn't perfect. Yet. True, it's a shame that in its infancy AI is wasting precious energy gathering data that could turn out to be inaccurate or fake. However, consider the following nuances: 1. AI models are constantly learning from feedback, and therefore, refining their accuracy, and 2. hardware data centers are increasingly energy-efficient eco-friendly infrastructure.
So, yeah, while AI's electricity consumption at this point in time is significant, we should not ignore the fact that, in the long run, its benefits and potential to drive positive change could outweigh the costs.

Cute… interesting observations.
Have a merry whatever.
